im thinking of making a “this week ahead” an every monday morning thing…

• mon

  • earnings from bac, gs, schw

    • jp morgan and morgan stanley did not do too hot last week, so we’ll see…

  • national housing market index (july)

• tues

  • earnings from jnj, nvs, nflx

    • particularly curious about netflix - still wrapping my head around the new subscription model

  • june housing starts and building permits

    • rising mortgage rates, record high building costs, etc…. not too bright i assume! (imo)

• wed

  • earnings from tsla, ual, abt

    • united airlines was once an obvious “buy low” opportunity… it’d take an unbelievably good earnings report for me to think that away again (imo)

  • existing home sales (june)

    • same here. not too promising! (imo)

• thurs

  • earnings from aal, mat, snap, dpz

    • domino's reported below expectations last quarter, and the headwinds have not disappeared, but this one would be interesting to monitor

  • ecb (european central bank) is expected to raise its benchmark interet rate by .25%, which will be ecb's first rate hike in 10+ years

• fri

  • earnings from vz, axp

    • kinda mixed sentiment on american express from analysts and researchers currently
