there are times when this subreddit community moves markets
i swear it used to have less than a million community members, but i guess between the pandemic and retail trading frenzy in the past couple of years, it now has more than 12 million community members
GME 0.00%↑, AMC 0.00%↑, BB 0.00%↑, and now the market-moving crazy retail money is landing on amtd digital – HKD 0.00%↑
🤷 im not making this up
amtd digital is a hong kong-based fintech company that as far as i know seems to be offering products and services that aren't any innovative...
the company went public a couple weeks ago with a share price of $7.80 and reached up to $2,555 a share on tuesday
it was one of the most traded stocks on fidelity tuesday
its market cap was greater than coca cola’s – my favorite ticker!
📣 what im learning
everytime something like this happens, im reminded that the market’s never perfect or efficient, but more importantly, there are spaces in the market where the majority of participants are irrational af
i really hope none of y’all participate in this, because even after you see posts of people making insane gains (or not), you’ll almost always be tempted to believe in your luck again and lose it all anyways
my suggestion is, if you’re really curious, just put a dollar in (#fractional #shares)
