elon musk co-founded open ai (parent company of chat gpt) back in 2015 and stepped down as chairman of the company in 2018
his primary reason was that he wanted to eliminate potential future conflict, as he had planned to become more ai-focused at tesla and spacex
🏁 but the ai race continued without him
of course we got chat gpt from open ai, which came out after elon musk left the company
google launched (rather in a rushed fashion) bard, its own ai soon after chat gpt reached a million users in five days
🎯 his next move
elon musk has reportedly contacted ai researchers about developing an alternative to chat gpt
including igor babuschkin who worked on deepmind ai at google
he has recently been criticizing openai for "installing safeguards that prevent chat gpt from producing text that might offend users"
musk also tweeted before that we need "truth gpt", citing conversations like this as an exampe of microsoft’s chatbot refusing to tell certain jokes
