that’s down 13% since june 2022
the peak total existing home sales 6.56 million (annual) was back in october 2020
🇺🇸 but here’s another way to look at it
there’s a stark contrast in housing sentiment between the west coast and the east coast currently in the us
all 12 major housing markets west of Texas showed declining housing prices in january
the 37 biggest metro areas east of Colorado showed rising housing prices in january
🧠 keyword: jobs
while unemployment stays at a steady low of 3.5%, we keep hearing these mass layoffs in tech – and the divergence is showingin real estate prices
the biggest tech hubs (san jose, san francisco, seattle) are among the biggest decliners, while florida and other southern markets are adding 10%+ gains in price (annualized)
